10 Things You Might Not Know About Me

March 31, 2021

It’s the middle of the week which I think is the perfect time to do a little re-introduction!
I’ve seen several new faces joining my social channels and inquiring about the blog so let’s chat!

My name is Izzy and I’ve been blogging for about 11 years. Goodness I feel kinda old saying that. One of my first blogs was a travel/diary blog where I talked about mission trips I was going on and what I was currently learning in life. The blog is still up to this day which I think is fun because it’s like a little time capsule. It was called It Always Iz. Don’t ask me where the name came from because I truly have no idea.

Little did I know that one day blogging and content creation were going to be my full time job. I’m humbled daily that I get to do this for a living and that I get to encourage others to do it too. I like to constantly remind everyone that there is plenty of work to go around and that we can all have a piece of the pie!

It was difficult to narrow down which 10 facts to share, but here we go!

  1. My first language is actually Portuguese. Most people are shocked to learn that, but it’s true! I don’t have much of an accent, but there are times when I’m speaking English and a Portuguese accent does comes out.
  2. I used to read almost a book a week but as of late I’ve been horrible at sticking with a book. I don’t know what it is but I’ll start a book and then pick it back up months later. I’m trying to get better at this and make reading a consistent habit.
  3. I was friends with Trevor for years before we ever dated. I think the reason we mesh so well is because of this. We had both seen each other at our worst as friends and that brings a whole new level of respect and closeness into a romantic relationship.
  4. I have degrees in Psychology and Social Work. I’ve utilized my education in a school setting and at a hospital. I would also say that I still utilize my degrees as a content creator because Psychology plays a huge part in being able to negotiate partnerships and run a business. I also try to incorporate these topics into some of my posts.
  5. I have a full bar in our home but I’m really not much of a drinker. I truly love the art of entertaining friends and family when they come over. Entertaining feels like a thing from the past these days but my hope is that one day it will be back! If I am going to have a drink, I like a glass of dry wine or a Moscow Mule.
  6. I’ve been getting ready to get back into the Youtube world (I’ve been gone for a hot minute) and I can’t wait to share what’s to come! I also see a podcast in my future!
  7. I’m an ENFJ and a 2 in the Enneagram world, ENFJ stands for (Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging). If you don’t know your personality type, click HERE to take a quick test. The answers to these tests are not the end all be all but they provided wonderful insight as to how you operate.
  8. We own an adorable Labradoodle named Salvador. He brings so much joy to our home! He is the 1st dog I’ve owned as an adult! The family we got him from named him “Salvodore” we kept the name but just changed the spelling to a Portuguese spelling. I actually have an uncle named Salvador and my family thinks it’s hilarious that they share that name.
  9. My favorite holiday is Christmas! It’s such a special time and I truly love celebrating it.
  10. For the past 2 years I have worked on having a more minimal home and closet. Basically a minimal lifestyle. I have donated about 35% of my things and I’m continuing to minimize weekly. Isn’t it funny how the more you get rid of things that you thought would bring happiness, the happier you get? If you want more content on this topic please let me know in the comments, through DMs or through my email!

I hope this article helps you get to know me a little better and I look forward to writing more of these “Get to know Me” type articles in the future.
