The Best Asian Smokehouse on Lamar- ATX

As new Texans we weekly attempt to try new local places and experiences. Tonight while aimlessly driving down Lamar looking for a place to plop down for dinner we ended up at Loro Asian Smokehouse & Bar.
No expectations, just pure hunger. Loro is located at 2115 S Lamar Blvd in Austin, Texas and you can find their Instagram page here.

First impression walking up was how beautifully simplistic the patio and outside dining area are! We choose to sit outside and enjoy the sunset.  We were quickly greeted by a friendly face who explained that we order our food and drinks inside.

The indoor area is just as beautiful as the outside. Wood elements with plenty of pretty greenery to look at as you wait to order. A stunning 1900’s vintage denim fabric flag sourced from Japan hangs on the back wall.

We ordered several items so that we could get a good idea of all that Loro has to offer.

When I tell you this was one of the best meals I have ever had, you might not believe me. Which means if you find yourself in the area, you should most definitely check it out.

Loro also has an extensive drink menu and they offer pick up and delivery.

Chef Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin (of Franklin Barbecue) did a fantastic job of combing Texan and Asian influences to create these dishes and we were highly impressed.

Loro is definitely going to be a regular spot for the three of us (pet friendly!) to hang and we can’t wait to try more of their menu. Next time I’m definitely going to be trying their desserts as well.
